This election gives all citizens, regardless of wealth, a fair shot to be heard and participate in every step of the democratic process
A total of 245 aspirants have filed nomination papers to contest the Aug 12 local body elections in 37 wards of 11 cantonment areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The nomination papers were filed with the relevant returning officers, which, in most cases, were the board chief executive officers.
The respective district election officers have been appointed district returning officers.
The nomination papers will be scrutinised from July 31 to Aug 3, while appeals against their acceptance or rejection can be filed from Aug 4 to Aug 7. The decisions on them will be made by the appellate tribunal until Aug 10. - Posted on : 01-August-2021
Pakistan Peoples Party has decided to nominate candidates for contesting elections on all seats in Cantonment Board Peshawar.
The decision was made in a joint meeting of the provincial and Peshawar district office-bearers of PPP. The meeting was held with PPP city district president Zulfiqar Afghani in the chair here on Saturday.
PPP provincial senior vice president Syed Ayub Shah, deputy secretary information Tahir Abbas, provincial council members Shaukat Hamdard, Jahanzeb Tekadar and Faheem Shah and senior workers including Khwaja Yawar Naseer and Zulfiqar Awan also participated in the meeting.
“We have decided to announce names of our candidates for all wards so that they could launch their election campaign with full swing,” Tahir Abbas told journalists. He added that the party had potential candidates to contest the election. - Posted on : 26-July-2021
