The president of Serbia is elected for a five year term. The current president, Boris Tadić (For a European Serbia), is serving his second term. He was elected in February 2008, narrowly defeating his main rival, Tomislav Nikolić (Serbian Radical Party), in the run-off by securing 50.31% of the vote.
