By-polls results: PPPs candidate wins PS-43 Sanghar

Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Jam Shabbir Ali has won the by-election from PS-43 Sanghar, constituency of Sindh, according to unconfirmed and unofficial results.

According to unconfirmed and unofficial results of all 132 polling stations of PS-43 Sanghar constituency of Sindh, PPP s Jam Shabbir Ali has been declared the winner with 45,240 votes.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Mushtaq Junejo got 5,230 votes and came second.

On the other hand, according to the results of 105 polling stations in PB-20 Pasheen, constituency of Balochistan province, Agha Azizullah of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam’s (JUI-F) was leading with 12,000 votes while Ismatullah Khan of BAP was second with 4,083 votes. - Posted on : 16-February-2021

PDM decides to support PPP candidates in Sindh by-polls

An alliance of 11 opposition parties with one-point agenda of removing the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) will serve as an electoral alliance as well and put its weight behind the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in the forthcoming by-polls in Sindh.

The decision was announced during a meeting of the leaders of two major parties — the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and the PPP — who agreed to use the by-election as an opportunity to strengthen the alliance.

“The PDM has decided in principle to show unity in the upcoming by-elections,” PPP Sindh president Nisar Khuhro said while talking to reporters after meeting with his PML-N counterpart Shah Mohammad Shah at the Muslim League House.

“We are thankful to the PDM leadership which has decided to show unity in the by-elections and strengthen this alliance. The PPP candidates will be supported by all the PDM parties in the Sindh by-elections.” - Posted on : 14-February-2021
