Munshiganj district unit of the ruling Awami League celebrates its board meeting three-year Kachari Balumath the old neighborhood in the capital today. Party leaders have said that 200 advisers would have to attend the session of the council. The last three years District Council of the Awami League was, however, held 10 years ago. The district Awami League was in the grip of its current president Mohiuddin Ahmed and general secretary Lutfar Rahman for about two decades, depriving many promising and capable leader to lead the party in the district, said that the local leaders of the party. According to them, there is a district leader wanted to contest for the office of president against Mohiuddin, while the secretary general of the joint corresponds Tofazzal Hossain and local legislature Sukumar Ranjan Ghosh can appear as candidates against the general secretaries Lutfar. A mid-level leaders of the district AL said that the district needs new leadership to revitalize the organization, but it seemed that the leadership can not be changed during the session of the council. Said Deputy Secretary of the Office of the Central Committee, Mrinal Kanti Das, had held a group in the district, but has failed to establish its supremacy in the neighborhood committee. The Secretary-General of the League, Syed Ashraful Islam, is scheduled for the opening session of the Council, and the advisory board member Tofail Ahmed addressed as the chief guest. The party held 12 meetings of the board of the 73 districts of the organization since 2009.
