PML-N scores upset victory against PTI[Posted on : 2018-02-12 by Wajeeh Ahmed] According to results received from all 338 polling stations, PML-N's Pir Iqbal Shah bagged 113,230 vote with an overall lead of 27,540 votes against PTI candidate Ali Khan Tareen who stood second with 85,690 votes.
Tareen, son of disqualified MNA Jahangir Khan Tareen, was widely tipped to win the contest with a big margin.
An independent candidate backed by religious group Tehrik-e-Labaik Ya Rasool Allah is third in the race with 10,227 votes while PPP candidate Ali Baig Mirza has secured 3,181 votes.

The seat fell vacant after the apex court disqualified Jahangir Tareen for not disclosing his assets.

| Ali Tareen summoned on Jan 4 for scrutiny of papers[Posted on : 2018-01-01 by Saleha Wajid] The returning officer (RO) for NA-154 has issued summons to candidates of the Feb 12 by-election for scrutiny of their nomination papers.
According to details, a total of 14 candidates are contesting the by-poll, being held after the Supreme Court-ordered disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) Jahangir Tareen.
Officials of the Election Commission of Pakistan said that Shafique Arain, Sajid Inam, Nafeez Ahmed and Mirza Ali Beg's nomination papers have already been approved.
The RO said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's candidate Ameer Baloch has been summoned on January 3 and Ali on Jan 4.
The RO added that the scrutiny will conclude on Jan 5 after which objections against nomination papers can be filed until Jan 9.
Ali, the son of Jahangir Tareen, submitted his nomination papers on Thursday.
| By-election to be held on Feb 12 next year[Posted on : 2017-12-19 by Rasool Baksh] After denotifying PTI MNA Jahangir Tareen last week, the Election Commission of Pakistan has officially announced to hold by-election in NA-154 on February 12.
According to the details, candidates wishing to participate in by-election in NA-154 can submit their nomination papers between December 26 and 28.
ECP will issue the final list of candidates after scrutiny on January 16 and issue electoral symbols to the candidates on January 18.
