PML n and Sh. Rasheed
[Posted by : Mulazim Hussain on May 09, 2013] Once upon a time when Sh. Sb was an active member of PML n and now he is contesting against PML n. Not only Mian Nawaz Sharif but also Sh. Sb to think on it and should find the reason for these differences.
[Posted by : Mubashir Ikram on May 05, 2013] This time it looks that people of the area will not make a wrong decision and vote for the man who make Rawalpindi an educational city by making a lot of schools and colleges.
NA 55 and 56 are the constituancies of PML(N)
[Posted by : ejaz malik on Apr 08, 2013] NA 55 and 56 are the constituancies of PML(N). If local leader like Sheikh Rasheed who had done a lot in Rawalpindi can win these seats without PML(N) name then it is not possible for any other who will come from somewhere else to win these seats. If javed Hashmi won his seat from Rawalpindi it is only virtu of PML(N) vote bank. Now Imran Khan is going to contest in NA 56 with the help of Sheikh Rasheed. In my openion it is nearly impossible for Imran to win this seat. For PML(N) personalities are not problems in these area He can win both seats if he bring any of his workers from here. Competition will be there but fact is that diffrence of victory on both seats are vary much clear. Imran Khan can minimize it but his compaign incharge is not capable of this level competition. But unfortunate of Imran Khan is that they have no better than him. While PML(N) have dozens of candidates on both seats and there are veriety of personalities, If they have people like Malik Shakeel Awan and Hanif Abbasi then they have people like Dr. Jamal Nasir and Agha Riaz ul Islam, they have devoted worker like Sardar Naseem. Any of them can win this seat just because of PML(N) vote Bank
[Posted by : Majid Hameed on Apr 08, 2013] This time it looks that Sheikh Sb will regain his seat again and will server the poor masses of the Halqa in a new zeal. Because it will be after defeat.

Fakhru Bhai denies he is resigning as CEC
[01-Jan-2013] Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G Ebrahim has vehemently denied speculations of his likely resignation as rumour mill was running high Monday following an implied disclosure by Babar Awan who wrote in a newspaper that the top ECP guy was ready to resign.
“There is not an iota of truth in it,” Ebrahim said when contacted for comments. As told about the ‘revelation’ in this respect by Babar Awan who has returned to article writing after his disgraceful exit from the power corridors, the CEC said he did not have any interaction with Babar Awan and wondered how he crafted this piece of ‘information’.
The speculations about the CEC’s likely resignation set alarm bells ringing among the political circles as affectionately known Fakhru Bhai has a history of such resignations in the past. Sources close to him say he tendered resignations for the sake of principles.
Babar Awan had stated in his column quoting a source in Margalla which he called his “Shaheen”, like the “chirya” of a prominent TV anchor, that the top guy of ECP had prepared his resignation in protest.
A week ago, Fakhru Bhai acknowledged he was under intense pressure due to the nature of assignments. Talking to Ahmed Noorani of The News, he had talked of being under stress due to the gigantic task of delimitation in Karachi.
Fakhru Bhai said all but one party was resisting to the Supreme Court’s decision in this respect, nevertheless, he had to move forward as there would be no question of elections there without delimitation and voters’ verification in the biggest city of Pakistan.
He sounded quite confident to move ahead with this task assigned by the Supreme Court of Pakistan and already endorsed by the Election Commission of Pakistan on December 13. This change came after his surprise meeting at Nadra Headquarters with Army chief.... [read more]

Briefing reporters on the meeting, Mr Hussain said: “After a discussion with Dr Qadri we believe that his mission is not against any individual, but against injustices and those who do not pay taxes.”
If implemented, Dr Qadri’s proposals about electoral reforms and an independent and honest caretaker government would strengthen electoral and democratic systems, he said.—Khalid Hasnain .... [read more]
