PTI’s Barrister Sultan wins election
Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, the candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) has won the election to AJK Legislative Assembly from his parent Mirpur LA-3 constituency by defeating his nearest rival Ch. Muhammad Saeed of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) by 3147 votes on Sunday.
Sultan emerged at top winning the polls securing 18462 votes against his nearest Ch. Muhammad Saeed of PML (N) who bagged 15556 votes, according to the unofficial results received from the District Returning Officer Mirpur / District & Session Judge.
Umair Chaudhry of Tahreek e Labaik Pakistan (TLP) remained 3rd by securing 5731 votes, PPP’s candidate Ch. Ashraf secured 4th position bagging 1384 votes and the only local party Muslim Conference’s candidate Shehzada Iqbal who could obtain only 361 votes, the unofficial results said. - Posted on : 26-July-2021
