Wazirabad, NA101

election,2013, there would be a three pronged race among, Iftikhar Cheema pml-n last time winner with margin, Ahmad Chatha, pml, like minded, son of veteran politician. And Shahnawaz Cheema of PTI. Although, last time margin of victory for Iftikhar Cheema of PML-N was about 25,000 plus, this time he is going to have a tough competition due to the factors as following. 1. PTI wave in central punjab. 2. All candidates are from the same PP constituency 103. And the only candidate Shahnawaz Cheema of PTI is although again from 103 but he resides in wazirabad city and also has experience of using the bradari vote card. 3. Rift between Imtiaz Bagri independent candidate PP 104, and Shaukat Manzoor PML-N is going to affect vote bank of Iftikhar Cheema of PML-N. As of today all three are neck and neck. Reports suggest Ahmad Chattha Of PML (like minded) and Shahnawaz Cheema of PTI are gaining momentum. - Posted on : 04-May-2013

NA 101 Party Position

Future political scene is a conundrum till the political parties come up with a better solution. Several questions emerge in the minds of people. They ask whether national election would be held as per constitutionally guaranteed schedule time or be postponed? If elections are held will any political party take lead and emerge as single largest party? Whether that party would be capable of forming government on its own strength or in coalition with other parties? These questions haunt minds of all sensible citizens of Pakistan. Following appointment of Chief Election Commissioner with consensus and show of ruling clans determination for holding next elections on time, several future aspirants have commenced election campaigns in their respective constituencies. A change is however coming about in constituencies like NA 101, associated with the name of veteran leaguer ex-Speaker National Assembly & Ex-Federal Minister Hamad Nasir Chattha . A former bureaucrat of his own tribe Sajid Hussain Chattha has come up to replace traditionally accepted incumbent Hamid Nasir Chatha. Another political stalwart, Ex-Federal Minister under PPP Government, Col. Ghulam Sarwar Cheema, is also in the field as one of the major contestants. Mr. Cheema might face a set back as he was branded as political turncoat when he first severed connections with PPP and joined PML (N) to come in power. Later, he joined PTI under fast emerging leadership of Imran Khan. Mr. Cheema is likely to contest coming elections under the banner of Tehrik-e-Insaf and his return in election would not be a surety. As far as NA 101 is concerned the neck to neck fight is expected between Hamad Nasir Chatha and Sajid Hussain Chattha. Junior Chattha happens to be a close relative of MPL (Q) top leaders Ch. Shujjat Hussain and Ch. Pervaiz Elahi. Sajid Chattha has since launched his election campaign by holding a largely attended public meeting at Alipur chatha, the other day. Sajid Hussain Chattha challenged older lot for reigning in the area and vowed to shake their strong hold. An old political activist Mehdi Husain Bhatti joined public meeting with scores of his supporters and team members from Hafizabad and made the public meeting at Alipur Chattha a success. The venue of the meeting was Haideri Chowk, Alipur Chattha, that can accommodate thousands of people in audience. The Chowk is important as it is hording site of Hamid Nasir Chatthas central office and the area is infested with large hording of life size photographs of Hamid Nasir Chattha. Hamid Nasar Chattha is projected by a supporter as great PML leader. Holding meeting in area of Hamid Nasir Chatthas influence is like challenging a lion in his own den. No doubt Hamid Nasir Chattha has long history of success in elections but much water has flown under the bridges with passage of time. His arch-rival Sajjad Hussain Chattha poses a serious challenge to him. In some respect Sajjad Hussain Chattha has an edge over his rivals as he has already been nominated as candidate by MPL(Q) and influential PMQ leadership is fully behind his back. Being a coalition partner in Government, PPP shall also lend support to PMLQ candidate Sajid Hussain Chattha. After his debut in election campaign and holding successful public meeting the party stalwarts including Ch. Shujjat Hussain PMLQ Chief and Deputy Prime Minister Pervaiz Elahi are expected to hold similar meetings and win peoples support in favour of their candidate Sajid Hussain Chattha. Nevertheless, it is difficult to predict anything, with connection to the general elections, about him in definite terms. People also want a change in traditional leadership that forgets their worth after they are voted to power. People seem to welcome new aspirant and pin hopes in their promises of development, such as building of schools, hospital and 50 megawatt electric power generator unit. Let us wait and see. - Posted on : 03-May-2013
