According to unofficial results, Pakistans Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Nadeem Khan Khayal won the Hangu NA-33 by-election on Sunday.
The party had won this latest victory at a time when the 123-member PTI National Assembly had resigned and the party was demanding new elections across the country. Party leaders have hinted that the newly elected MNA will also step down soon.
According to unofficial results, PTIs Nadeem Khan won with 20,772 votes while Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam Fazls Obaidullah came in second with 18,244 votes. The other three candidates are Saeed Omar of the Awami National Party and two independent candidates Atiq Ahmed and Muhammad Saeed.
Despite Ramadan, a large number of voters took part in the voting process. No major unwanted incidents occurred during the voting. By-elections were originally scheduled for April 10, but were postponed for a week due to the countrys political situation. - Posted on : 18-April-2022
