Campaign Update
With only two days before the august 20 deadline for the cessation of election campaigns on August 22, the voters of the mobilization capital NA-48 appears low and election campaigns of the candidates have also struggled to take momentum.
Twenty Two candidates are running for the seat vacated by party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Javed Hashmi. But only three traditional political parties, the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party Pakistan Tehreek-party e-Insaf - in writing candidates.
Their banners and posters of the candidates are visible in some corners of the streets and avenues, and the candidates are trying to gather the crowds during the meetings of the corner, but the election fever stimulating and absent from the city. The campaign has also been interrupted by Eid holidays and celebrations of Independence Day.
The turnout may not touch the 59.55 % of the voters on 11 May. But it is not a fault. Experts suggest the turnout in elections is rarely parallel to participation in general elections. - Posted on : 20-August-2013
Seat likely for PTI
With the election results is often a foregone conclusion in favor of the ruling party, the only group that is creating some waves and hosts some suspense is NA-48 with prospects of a tight contest. Although full of candidates, the constituency seems a contest between PML-N and PTI. The seat has become vacant by the PTI leader Javed Hashmi. In the next election, the party awarded the PTI Asad Omar while the PML-N to Ashraf Gujjar. In the final battle, local political experts favor the PTI candidate in the elections against selected by the PML-N. They said the PTI has chosen the right person for the constituency. "Omar Asads personality is an important factor.s Much better candidate Ashraf Gujjar of PML-N," a high-level political Islamabad. The seat was vacated by the PTI, indicating that it has roots in the constituency, mainly from an urban area. Another important factor that goes against the PML-N is the fights in the party ranks. The PML-N from the beginning I was hesitant about a suitable candidate after the fiasco committed by Anjum Aqeel Khan.
